Abby is a knitwear designer and technical knit developer. She is passionate about textile development, creative design research, and working hands-on to bring innovative ideas to life.

Her experience is primarily in luxury fully fashioned women’s knitwear design. She specializes in the tactile aspect of knit design, and marries an extensive knowledge of fiber and yarn with an understanding of their application in silhouette.

She has worked with factories in Italy, China, and Turkey. She has worked as a knit developer in-studio, handling machines, sourcing yarns for a range of clients, and programming swatch and garment developments on Stoll M1 software. Offering a uniquely diverse understanding of knit product creation from design to manufacturing, she feels equally comfortable oiling a needle bed as she does designing and presenting knit collections.

Based out of Florence, Italy, her location offers a unique positioning to a network of mills, factories, archives, and creative destinations. Her work both with Italian supply chains and in American design environments offers a valuable perspective and opportunity to seamlessly bridge gaps between creative vision and technical execution.

She is deeply passionate for minimizing fashion’s environmental impact and uplifting equitable design systems, and works to support regional textile and manufacturing networks whenever possible.
